Hi! I’m an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Public Policy in the School of Social Ecology at the University of California

The crux of my research lies in understanding how institutional barriers across federal, state, and local levels enable the persistence of household energy inequities such as increased energy inefficiency and increased energy burdens. My research links energy poverty vulnerability alleviation with global decarbonization goals by examining measurement and evaluative standards of federal energy assistance programs in the U.S., U.K., and Chile. My research promotes ongoing policy analysis and program evaluations in order to improve community health and to effectuate a just energy transition.

My research has been supported by the Ford Foundation, the Fulbright Commission, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
